Level 1 is the entry route. Level 2 and Level 3 candidates must meet the applicable prior-certification, experience and logged-hours requirements, which the training provider should verify before booking.
Training completion does not guarantee proficiency or certification. Candidates must meet the course requirements and pass the independent assessment. Novikontas should confirm the current certificate validity, documents issued after a successful assessment and any renewal requirements.
IRATA Rope Access Technician Training Level 1
This course is meant for individuals who want to work in the industrial rope access sector.
The training is designed for beginners who will learn to inspect their own personal rope, accurately assess equipment, and assist in rig operations.
Training on rescue operations involving descent with rope is also involved in the training module.
IRATA Rope Access Technician Level 2
Training is intended for candidates wanting to learn the skills and knowledge required for working at complex workplaces, such as construction as well as heavy industry sectors onshore and offshore.
The course covers more advanced rope-access and rescue manoeuvres within Level 2 scope; task-specific installation competence is assessed separately.
IRATA Rope Access Technician Level 3
This advanced IRATA course is aimed at professionals who already have more than one year of experience and 1000 hours as IRATA level 2 technician.
It is intended for experienced technicians preparing to supervise rope-access safety. Broader project-planning or management duties require a separate appointment and suitable task competence.
Who Provides the IRATA Training and What to Confirm

Course applications, dates, location, fees, entry requirements, assessment arrangements and certificate administration must be confirmed with the training provider before booking.
Level 1 is the entry route described on this page. Level 2 and Level 3 are upgrade routes for technicians who meet the relevant prior-level experience and logged-hours requirements. Candidates should ask Novikontas to check their current certification and logbook before committing to an upgrade course.
Course completion and certification are not the same as employment. Employers and project operators may require additional trade competence, medical fitness, safety training or site-specific credentials. Gridinta's rope access service page explains how rope access is used on industrial work, while current opportunities are published on the careers page. For general certification context, read the IRATA certification guide.
