How a power ascender fits a rope access system
A powered ascender uses a battery-driven motor to move along a working rope. It can reduce the effort of repeated climbs, but the complete access system, compatible rope, independent safety system and recovery plan still need to suit the task. Confirm ascent and descent limits, approved rope types and diameters, temperature limits, duty cycle, battery range and dimensions against the current instructions and nameplate for your proposed configuration. Do not use figures for another Smart Spider version to plan a lift or an access operation.
